My Thoughts
Mom gave me 2 cans of pickled lettuce. Coincidentally I had not gone to the market yet and only had minced pork in the freezer.So, I decided to make this dish. Very simple and not much preparation needed.
Since I already use the electric steamer to steam my rice, I added another tier for this.
Was planning to use any leftovers to cook with porridge the next day, but there weren't any leftovers. 😅
Ingredients
- 250g minced pork
- 1 can pickled lettuce
- 1 tsp shao xing wine
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 ½ tbsp cornflour
- A little soy sauce
- A little dark soy sauce
Method
- Remove the pickled lettuce from can. DO NOT throw the liquid.
- Roughly chop the lettuce. Set aside.
- In a bowl, mix the minced pork, wine and sesame oil.
- Add pickled lettuce. Drizzle some soy sauce. Mix
- Drizzle a bit of dark soy sauce. Mix
- Add about 2 tbsp of pickle juice. Stir.
- Transfer to a steaming plate.
- Flatten the surface.
- Steam for about 12 - 15 minutes.
- Serve hot.
